Kaylin Renea is the author of the Holler & Hellfire series — five paranormal romance novels set in the small mountain corridor of Pike County, Kentucky, where six generations of Hollow Witches have been holding a border the formal frameworks could not see. The books are about the women who held the line, the chief Watchers who came to assess them, and the older mechanism that, after ten thousand years of being permitted to stay quiet, decided in October to reassert itself.

Under the name Dixie Deadshot, Renea also records the companion albums — outlaw country rap fused with Appalachian folk, recorded at her back-porch studio outside Pikeville. Five volumes accompany the five novels. A standalone EP, Dead Reckoning, is the artist's own story. The catalog is independent, released through her own imprint Holler & Hellfire Records.

The corridor was always there. The framework was, in the end, just life.
